The other day at work, I was exposed to just one more tidbit of human foibles that I couldn't stand...Nothing major, it just struck me as wrong...And thus, this page now exists. I'll stick stuff up here whenever I feel like adding to it. If you do any of these things: deal with it. You can't please everyone all the time.
1. Pronouncing acronyms that are just silly.
Alright, I say 'scuzzy' for SCSI just like everyone else, but I ran into
someone who says 'hemp-tul' for HTML. Can't do it...As the Tick said, "That's just
*wrong*!"
2. The phrase "My bad."
Who the hell decided that it was okay to apologize for doing something
wrong by talking like a baby?? This one just grates on my nerves. Ditch the baby talk
already...
3. Drivers who don't use their turn signals.
This one is just pure laziness. No excuses for it in my book.
4. People who go into chat rooms or newsgroups for the
sole purpose of starting flame wars.
Grow up and get a life. Very small minds derive very small pleasures...
5. People without common manners: Specifically, eating
quietly, or silently, and *never* on the phone.
Okay, I'm rather oversensitive to this one. My sister used to
deliberately irritate me with it, but it's still rude and disgusting...
6. Coming to a stop behind someone and leaving
15' of space between you.
It's one thing to to want to be too close, but why do
California drivers seem to think that you should maintain the same distance
while moving as while stopped? It causes way too many problems...
7. Frivolous lawsuits.
It would be so nice to have a definition for lawsuits that
are just plain stupid so they can be summarily dismissed with extreme prejudice.
Millions of dollars because that worker decided *on their own* to masturbate all
day working at a phone sex place, causing CTS, is ridiculous.
