The Transporter Website

I went into this movie expecting little in the way of plot, and plenty of interesting action. It delivered pretty well. The Transporter is a lot like a Jackie Chan movie, only more polished. It has the excellent martial arts fights, only with a precision to them, instead of the humor that Jackie has. The minimum background information is given to support the plot, and they just go from there, sailing from one scene to the next with little time to reflect on things. The one love scene was awfully gratuitous, tho. I mean, when they show the two making out on a kitchen table and then cut away, it's just awful! <w>
The movie is written and produced by Luc Besson, who is best known for The Fifth Element, La Femme Nikita, and The Professional. The Transporter is a lot like The Professional, with a lot of the same sort of jokes an interaction between the two leads. If you're into something fast, smoth, and not too deep, then The Transporter may just be up your alley.

The Transporter earns a value of $6.50 on CyberKender's scale.
