The MIB's, (Yeah yeah yeah...Agents,
but they are *perfect* MIBs), are perfect too. I love Mr. Smith's diction.
Annoying in real life, but like Chris Tucker as Ruby Rod, nothing else
would have been as appropriate. The Sentinels are a bit derivative of
Lost in Space's aliens...I think they had the same guy design them.
The rest of the special effects are most eggcellent, and there are no
reality breaks in them.
The newspaper review is right about the dialog, though. The wannabe Zen bits are rather contrived, but they manage to work very well between Kenau's phlegmatic style and Fishburn's persona as Morpheus. The only time I noticed them as odd was when it was the kid bending spoons... Better than matinee, but not quite full price. Very enjoyable, excellent style, but another person's comment here was on the mark for me: Blade Runner did it better. |

I rate this as being worth
paying $6.50 for.
