Whoa....What a trip!
The Cell is a serious warping of the mind. I was a bit suprised that as much of the movie is not all that fantastic imagry that the trailers show, but this is a good thing. It grounds the movie in reality and gives the audience something to hold onto during the wild, visual ride. What a ride, tho! The cinematography and style of the scenes that happen within the minds of both the young child and the serial killer are amazing. The special effects for them are top-notch, but the sheer imagination makes them something more than just good special effects. This movie is not just about special effects. It has a plot that is both simple and elegant, even believeable. All you have to swallow is that someone invented a machine that will allow one person to enter the mind of another. After that, I cannot think of any plot holes. The acting is good, but not spectacular. Jeniffer Lopez plays her role as the heroine well, but she dosen't show a lot of depth in her acting except when she's inside the mind of the serial killer. Vince Vaugn does a better job as the FBI profiler, but the best acting is done by Vincent D'Onofrio and Jake Thomas as the two halves of the serial killer's personality. |

The Cell is definitely worth
seeing. On the CyberKender scale, it's worth $7.00.
