Take the directive capabilities
of Ivan Reitman, throw in David Duchovny and Orlando Jones, a dash of
Dan Akroyd, and a whole lot of alien goo. Shake and serve warm. Evolution
delivers to the funny bone pretty darn well. If you liked Ghostbusters,
then you'll love Evolution. It's not very serious, and it's got some
cheesy extra characters, but if you really care, then you're seeing
the wrong sort of movie with this one. The actual alien evolution thing
could have been taken in some interesting directions, and the ending
goes for the gross-out joke, but I laughed a lot during Evolution. I
could have done without the 'ad' at the end, tho. Some blooper outtakes,
a la Jackie Chan, would have been perfect instead. Definitely worth
seeing, however.
